Season's Greetings from a blustery and cold Clover Hollow where we've had lots of folks out getting their 2024 Christmas trees. As of now (December 5th @ 3 p.m.) we have filled up our appointment schedule and will not be taking any more appointments for the 2024 season. If a slot opens up, we will post it here.

If you've already made an appointment with us you'll be good to go and we'll look forward to seeing you soon.

Many thanks.

Clover Hollow Christmas Tree Farm

Our Story

For the past 32 years Clover Hollow Christmas Tree farm has been sustainably growing Christmas trees in the highlands of Southwest Virginia. Back in 1986 we were consistently told it wasn’t possible to grow a tree without the heavy use of herbicides, pesticides and fertilizer but we were committed to using organic methods and the great news is we proved the skeptics wrong!

For over 30 years our customers have enjoyed our sustainably grown trees. It isn’t always easy to grow quality trees this way (or any way for that matter!) — since our trees are not fertilized they take longer to reach market size. We rely on improved strains of traditional trees like Fraser and Canaan Fir that have been conventionally bred to produce high quality Christmas trees. And of course, we have the advantage of deep rich soils and the cool moist summers of the Southern Appalachians.

Here on the farm we like to experiment with new species of trees — they are sometimes called exotics. Examples include our Turkish Fir (native to Turkey), Myers Blue Spruce (native to parts of Asia), and our Corkbark, Concolor, and Grand Firs (native to the Rockies here in North America). Each tree has its own unique appearance and characteristics. We have a page dedicated here on the website to each variety and we’ll be happy to show them to you when you visit the farm! We grow these trees in smaller numbers than Fraser and Canaan Fir but have found the demand for them is growing rapidly. We have expanded our planting of these varieties in the past few years so more are coming as fast as we can grow them. All have superior needle retention, great & often unique color, and make a beautiful Christmas tree.

Many thanks for visiting our web site - wishing you the best.
